JUST A CARD is a campaign launched in 2015 by Sarah Hamilton, English artist and designer.

It "aims at encouraging people to support, value and buy from artists, makers, independent shops and small businesses. Every sale, even just a card, is vital to their prosperity and survival".

From 22nd to 27th November, the campaign is running the JUST A CARD indie week. Each day, mostly on Instagram, makers and small businesses are encouraged to share a picture in response to a prompt.

The week culminates on black Friday with a view to make as much noise as possible to collectively promote the products and services offered by independent makers, in a fun and joyous manner!

Being an independent maker gives me the opportunity to explore emotions and states of mind (as in my series En chemin) and create meaningful work. I feel my voice is heard. When you choose one of my linocut printed cards or a print, you do not only buy a picture, you also buy the happiness I put into designing it, carving it and the care I took to print it and send it to you. Thank you!
